Planting Instructions

Properly planted perennials, shrubs and trees develop roots faster and establish more quickly than those planted improperly. To ensure that your plant is as healthy and long-lived as possible, follow these simple instructions when planting your newest garden addition.

Roses

Planting: Dig a hole that is about twice a big as the pot. Place the rose in the hole with the graft (the swollen area of your rose where all of the stems originate) about 2 inches (6cm) below the ground surface. Fill in the remainder of the hole with Rose Soil.

Trees & Shrubs for 4 Seasons of Interest

Each season, there are plants which simply stand out in the landscape. Whether they flower profusely, have an interesting silhouette, or provide wonderful fall colour, these trees and shrubs add a great deal of interest to the garden. The most dramatic plants for the spring and summer bloom prolifically, while fall show-stoppers may provide vibrant leaf colour or berries. Fabulous plants for the winter landscape might provide ornamental bark or berries while others have attractive branching patterns. Evergreen plants are great choices for the winter landscape as they retain their leaves year-round, ensuring that the garden has texture and colour even in the coldest months. By planning to include knock-out plants for each
season, you can create a garden with ornamental appeal all year long.
