Fish Care

Upon purchasing your new fish, take them home as soon as possible. Avoid exposing the bag to direct sunlight, as well as excessive heat or cold. Keep the bag in a darkened box or paper bag to help keep out the light and calm the fish. Try and minimize sloshing.

As soon as you get home, open the bag and float it in your pond. Preferably, this should be done in a shady area, for about 20 minutes. This will allow the water temperature of the bag to gradually adjust to the temperature of the pond.

After 20 minutes, add a bit of pond water to the bag, and allow it to float for another 5 minutes. Do this three times. When this is done, remove the fish from the bag using a wet hand or a net.DO NOT pour the bag water in to the pond. Instead, dump it away from your pond.
