Begonia ‘Cracklin Rosie’

A fetching name for an eye-catching plant… Begonia ‘Cracklin’ Rosie’!

This cane Begonia (similar to Begonia maculata) has dramatically flared and fluted leaves that are a deep, bronze-green with shimmering, soft pink speckles. Velvety pink undersides of the leaves and whorled, coral new growth make Begonia ‘Cracklin’ Rosie’ a uniquely beautiful plant. When growing successfully, this Begonia will occasionally produce small clusters of pink flowers. Learn more about this fairly new variety from the American Begonia Society here.

To grow Begonia ‘Cracklin Rosie’ indoors, place in bright, indirect light. Providing extra humidity is highly recommended for this plant. Boost humidity by misting regularly, grouping plants together, using a pebble tray, or adding a small humidifier to your houseplant area. Aim to keep soil lightly moist, allowing the surface to dry somewhat between waterings. Ensure excess water always drains away, and always plant in an indoor potting mix with great drainage. When the plant is actively growing, provide regular feedings with an indoor plant food.
