Philodendron squamiferum

Philodendron squamiferum is a bold, easy-care houseplant with huge, lobed leaves and unique leaf stems that are bristly and pink.

This plant thrives best in a warm environment with bright, indirect light. For best growth, provide as much humidity as possible, especially in winter months. Boost humidity by providing regular misting, grouping plants together, using a pebble tray, or adding a small humidifier to your houseplant area. Philodendrons like this can benefit from having a moss or coconut fiber pole to climb onto, often resulting in larger leaves and more vigorous growth.

Aim to keep soil lightly moist, allowing the surface to dry somewhat between waterings. Always allow excess water to drain away. When it’s time to re-pot, plant in a potting mix made for tropical houseplants that allows for quick drainage.
